DANCE FOR PEACE was formed by DJs Nick Hook and Affy Go Bang after they met on a pro-Palestine peace march in Brighton in November 2023. Both Affy and Nick are seasoned club promoters and DJs. They decided to use their platforms to put on a club event to raise funds for humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza. Their goal was also to raise awareness of the Palestinian struggle for freedom among Brighton’s house and dance music community.

The first Dance For Peace event took place at the Volks Nightclub in Brighton in February 2024. It was a huge success with 30 Brighton DJs playing in two rooms to more than 300 people on a Sunday afternoon and evening. The event raised £2313.00 for the charity Medical Aid For Palestinians.

Since then Dance For Peace has hosted many more club events at some of Brighton’s best venues. Well known DJs have included Mr C, Danny Howells, Scott Diaz, Seamus Haji, Pete Bones, Russell Small, Steve Mac, Sophie Joy, Evil Tom, Wildblood and Queenie, Carl Loben and Miss Monument.
All the DJs at Dance For Peace events have performed for free and all the funds raised have gone to the charity Medical Aid For Palestinians.

Dance For Peace calls on the UK government to demand the withdrawal of all Israeli forces from Gaza and the removal of all Israeli settlements from the West Bank. We call on our government to cease all weapon sales to Israel and imposes full sanctions on the Israeli state.

Dance For Peace opposes all forms of racism and discrimination. We recognise the house, rave and dance music scene was born from marginalised communities fighting against racism and for sexual freedom. House music, after all, was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago’s Black gay underground club culture.

We celebrate diversity and proudly stand as a woke collective, inspired by those who fight for justice, freedom, peace and equality.
Dance For Peace believes house music and rave culture have the power to unite all people. We rave and resist; none of us is free until we are all free.
